JARVIS (github.com/ethanplusai/jarvis) is an open-source voice assistant that sits on top of Claude Code. You talk to it, it brainstorms the idea out loud, writes a design document, then starts and drives Claude Code sessions to build it, and tells you out loud when a session needs a human. The catch: it only runs on macOS, and I work on Windows.
So I ported it to Windows with Claude. The Python backend, the animated particle orb and the session dashboard now run on my PC, and the assistant watches every Claude Code run so plans, reviews and progress are in one place.
Then I made it my own. It has a wake word, so it answers when called by name the way Siri does, and I renamed it Lourea. The voice moved to Microsoft Edge text-to-speech, which is free and needs no API key, after the paid voice service stopped working.
It is not finished. The app starts and runs, but the original test suite is not fully passing on Windows yet (171 passed, 72 failed in the last run), so it is a working build in testing rather than a finished product.
